Having Fun Every Day

the foster fieldhouseThe typical Androscoggin day is just a part of the program. Beyond the list of land and water sports and individual activities, there are special events and excursions throughout the summer. Whether it’s a nature hike, a water carnival, afternoon canoe trips or campfires by the tee-pee, every age group enjoys activities planned specifically for them.

The fun and activity continues every evening, with choices ranging from sports, leagues and movies to trips to the Wayne General Store and weekly all-camp events.

Even rain doesn't slow us down. We are always ready with a host of fun activities for a quick-change of pace or a sudden change in the weather.

We plan skits in the Playhouse, projects in the Art Center, games in the Dining Hall and sports in the Foster Fieldhouse.

Located at the center of the campus, the Fieldhouse is 70 by 100 feet and houses a high school regulation-size basketball court, plus two courts going the width of the building. At center court the ceiling is 30 feet high. There is enough space beyond the end lines for every camper and counselor to watch the action safely and comfortably.

Named for Stu Foster, a staff member who spent most of his 40 summers here as head counselor, the Fieldhouse is ideal for basketball as well as street hockey, rainy day games and evening sports leagues.

Built in 1999, the Fieldhouse is more than just a center for sports activities. With its covered porch, the Fieldhouse quickly became one more popular meeting place that every camper can enjoy.
