It's All Planned

Each day at Androscoggin, a camper will take part in as may as eight different activities, including:

  • Baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, lacrosse
  • Street hockey, archery, riflery, volleyball, golf
  • Ropes course and climbing wall
  • Campcraft, woodworking, ceramics
  • Animation, video production, photography
  • Dramatics, radio broadcasting, music
  • Water-skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, sailing, windsurfing
  • Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing

All campers participate in five instructional periods each day, always grouped with other boys their own age. Whether a boy is a novice or an expert, he will receive instruction tailored to his age and ability, using equipment that is appropriate for his age and experience.

We select these five periods for our younger campers, ages eight to 11, to ensure that each boy can participate in all of our activities. Our 12 and 13 year old campers have the opportunity to select two of their five instructional periods. By the time our campers are 14 and 15 years old, they select all their activities every day. They can participate in a wide range of activities or specialize in just a few.

In addition to the instructional periods, we offer two free-choice periods every day when all the activities are open and supervised. This is a great opportunity for our younger campers to make choices and spend extra time at their favorite activities.

The result is a program that is structured and yet flexible, responsive to the needs of every boy.
