Head Counselor – Jon Mann 

Jon’s first summer at Androscoggin was as a camper. He returned as a tennis counselor in 1977, then as head of tennis, before his tenure as head counselor began in 2000. He welcomed his grandson as a camper in 2026. During the year, he works at his advertising specialty business, Mann Marketing, in Ohio. 

Head Counselor – Eric Stone   

Eric was a camper at Androscoggin starting in 1993, returned as a swim counselor in 2000, then became head of swimming. He has been an assistant head counselor since 2024. He works as a teacher at Rumsey Hall in Washington, Connecticut, during the school year. 

Group Leader – Bebe Zazzaro 

Bebe began as a drama counselor in 1997 and became one of our original group leaders in 1999. Her sons, Collin and Casey, were also campers. During the year, she works as a guidance counselor at Darlington School in Georgia.

Group Leader – Heather Saunders

Heather, a Wayne native, started as a swim counselor in 1998, not counting her summers as babysitter in high school. She has been a group leader since 2008, and her son is currently a camper. She recently opened an early child center called The Clubhouse in Camden, Maine.

Group Leader – Alan Liow 

Alan started as a photo counselor in 2012 and has been a group leader since 2023. During the school year, he teaches at Darlington School in Georgia

Group Leader – Jami Moore

Jami, a longtime camper at a girls’ camp in Maine and the brother of an Andro alum, began as a swim counselor in 2012. She has been a group leader since 2021. During the school year, she is the literacy specialist at Avenues The World in New York.

Group Leader – Shawn Roth

Shawn began as a swim counselor in 1999 and has been a group leader since 2017. He works as an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania, and his son is currently a camper.

Head of Landsports – Sam Schnur

Sam began as a camper in 1997 and returned as a basketball counselor in 2005. He was head of basketball before becoming Athletic Director. During the school year, he is a teacher and coach at the Cheshire School in Connecticut.

Head of Landsports – Adam Cyr

Adam started as a waterski counselor in 2012. After stints in baseball and swim, and then head of swim, trip leader and program director, he joined Sam as an Athletic Director in 2025. During the year, he is an administrator at Bates University, working with students to provide learning accommodations.

Head of Waterfront – Micki Manheimer

Micki Manheimer, a Maine native and longtime camper, whose father and brother are Andro alums, started as a ski counselor in 2009. She later became head of ski, then head of waterfront, in 2021. After many years at Bowdoin College, Micki joined Andro’s year-round staff in 2026.

Head of Arts – Mitch Zemil

Mitch began as an animation counselor in 2015 before becoming Head of Art in 2021. During the year, he is a freelance animator and adjunct college professor at Montclair State University

Head of Art – Tuck Pugsley 

Tuck is back at Androscoggin for her second stint. She started as an arts and crafts counselor in 2008 and returned with her husband, Peter, and two boys as co-head of art in 2024. She is an artist and carpenter in Chicago.

Head of Outdoor Adventure – Jason Oswald

Jason started as a trip counselor in 2003 before becoming head of outdoor adventure. During the school year, he teaches at Kents Hill School in Maine.

Head of Outdoor Adventure – Matt Newman 

Matt, a camper at Androscoggin starting in 2005, returned as a soccer counselor in 2014, before joining the trip program  During the year, he teaches elementary school in Bethesda, Maryland.

Head of Outdoor Adventure – Switch Bauerband

Switch started as an archery and ropes counselor in 2011 and returned in the trip program in 2014. During the year, she is a teacher in Vermont.

Head of Tennis – Tom Greenwood 

Tom was a camper, returned as a tennis counselor in 1978 and has been running our tennis program since 1988. He is a retired teacher, and his grandson is currently a camper.

Dr. Rick Horndash

Rick’s first summer was in 1991.

Dr. Stefani Ashby

Sefani has been with us since 2021, and her son is currently a camper.

Dr Jamie Allen  

Jamie was a counselor from 2007 to 2013 and returned as a doctor in 2025.

Janice’s first summer was in 1994

Staff and Camper Engagement – Robin Nathan

Robin first started as a photo counselor in 2002. She has been a full-time staff member since 2018 and director of staff and family camper engagement since 2022. Her husband, Eric, was a camper and staff member, and her son is a camper.

Staff and Camper Engagement – Adam Hirsch

Adam started at Androscoggin as a camper in 2006, then returned as a ski counselor in 2013. He became head of ski in 2023 and joined the year-round staff in 2026. 

Head of Grounds – Marcin Gawron  

Marcin started as a member of the maintenance staff in 1987 and has been our head of grounds since 1997. Both of his sons, Stefan And Mietek, were campers and now work alongside him.
